10 books for every type of traveler this Spring Break

If you’ve ever packed for a trip, you know the rules. No liquids, gels or aerosols over 3.4 ounces, roll up your clothes to save space, wear that outfit at least twice and whatever you do, don’t pack books. Watching my husband bounce up and down on my suitcase in an attempt to zipper it shut before our trip last week was a good reminder—space is at a premium when traveling, and while I probably didn’t need those 4 pairs of shoes for a 3-day trip, I certainly didn’t need to bring books.

Now don’t get me wrong. A great book is a non-negotiable for any vacation. But why shove books into an already-overstuffed bag when I can bring a whole collection of ebooks, audiobooks and magazines right on my phone in the Libby app? No rifling through my carry-on during mid-flight turbulence to find my book; it’s already in my pocket.

Load your Libby with free books from your library, then pop in your headphones or listen to an audiobook as you drive on CarPlay, flip through a magazine while you wait to board your flight or lounge around on your much-deserved vacation with an ebook.

Travel tip ✈️ 🚗 Before you go, download your borrowed titles onto your device so they’re easily accessible when you’re without WiFi on the plane, in the car or once you get to your destination.

So go ahead, bring that extra pair of shoes. Libby’s got you. We’ve also got some great recommendations to load your Libby with before you hit the open road (or sky). Borrow free from your library on the Libby app.
