When reality gets ridiculous, read satire!

You haven’t forgotten how to laugh, but you may have forgotten what to laugh at. Here – laugh at what scares you. Laugh when you’re so angry you can’t speak. Laugh at the stuff that seems too horrible to even acknowledge. It’s okay, no one’s watching. It doesn’t mean you don’t care, doesn’t mean you’re not moral or thoughtful. Powerful statements are often spoken tongue-in-cheek. If you flinch away from reality, look at it from a new perspective and it’ll start to change shape. You don’t have to do all the work yourself; we know some great writers who can make life funny again.

Try making light of dark times with our satire recommendations, available on the Libby app.
