What your zodiac sign says about your reading habits in Libby

Happy new year, Libby readers! While we don’t claim to have the answers to all of life’s questions in 2026, maybe we can offer a little insight into your personal reading journey on Libby, as gleaned from the stars above.

♒ Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

Oh, Aquarius, how we love your deeply weird, ethereal ways. This year, when you’re not treating literary fiction like bibliomancy, opening Jeanette Winterson’s latest and pointing to a phrase as your north star for the day, you’re listening to your audiobooks at 2.5x speed, hoping to find hidden messages in the narration. The truth is out there!

♓ Pisces (February 19 – March 20)

In 2026, you’re leaning into your duality—connecting to reality and possibility in equal measure—by both searching for specific titles that have caught your eye and using the random filter to find undiscovered gems. Trusting both your intuition and the universe will yield the best results!

♈ Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Y R U MAD THO? Listen, hothead: sometimes things don’t go exactly as planned but that’s no reason to lose your temper. If your ebook doesn’t send to Kindle or you can’t get your audiobook to connect to CarPlay, take a deep breath and reach for Libby Help. You can also access Help by tapping on the Menu icon and scrolling down past Help & Support.

♉ Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

You take your rest more seriously than most, and we respect you for it! This year, plan an even cozier naptime, chill time, or bedtime by using Libby’s sleep timer to make sure you don’t miss a moment of your favorite audiobook. Once settled into your favorite cozy spot, tap the crescent moon icon🌙 in the upper right corner of your audiobook and use the slider (or a pre-set option) to choose a time for the narration to pause. Sweet dreams, Taurus!

♊ Gemini (May 21 – June 21)

When you’re a social butterfly with places to go and people to see, securing your next read can seem less like an exciting adventure and more like one more item on your endless to-do list. If you’re struggling with book indecision, the best choice is… all of them! Tag your titles with custom list names and emojis so you never lose track of what caught your eye and then peruse those lists in your (rare) downtime.

♋ Cancer (June 22 – July 22)

As an empathetic sign, you can sometimes take on the emotions of the characters you read about. Sometimes that’s a good thing; who doesn’t want to feel like the main character in a witty romcom? But there are times when you crave a devastating book and then you’ve got to deal with the fallout. We recommend you mitigate any unwanted book-borne emotions by choosing a reading setting to mismatch your mood. For instance, try reading your tearjerkers in sepia mode to dull that knife in your chest.

Lighting options in Libby

♌ Leo (July 23 – August 22)

Leo, you’re always the star of the show! This year, you’re reading the hottest books and giving the hottest takes. People you know (and those you influence) want to know what you’re thinking. Make sure to capture your thoughts by leaving annotations directly in your Libby ebooks and audiobooks. Then, export and share those notes so your fans can bask in your wit and intellect!

♍ Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

Failing to plan is planning to fail, according to the Virgo code. In 2026, whether you’re considering your long-term goals or laying out the day-to-day tasks of being a human on this planet, you have your order of operations locked in. Since holds can become available outside your carefully curated schedule (rude), make sure you’re setting up and pinning your Libby notifications so you never miss a digital title!

♎ Libra (September 23 – October 23)

We’ve never met a Libra who wasn’t the most aesthetically aware being in the room. From appreciating home décor to following trends in art, beauty, and fashion, your interest in the finer things cannot be understated. Did you know you can borrow and subscribe to magazines catered to your interests? You can even zoom in on full-color layouts and adjust the text in your favorite articles to get the most vivid, all-encompassing experience.

♏ Scorpio (October 24 – November 21)

Scorpio, you get a bad rep sometimes. What some people perceive as vengeful or overly intense is usually just you reacting to injustice. You can lean into those fiercely loyal tendencies for by raising awareness of Libby’s accessibility features for your friends and neighbors who benefit from them. From screen reader technology to keyboard shortcuts to dyslexic font, Libby has features to support all learners, and we predict Scorpio will be touting those tools far and wide in 2026.

♐ Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

Our Sagittarius friends have an unslakable thirst for knowledge, and we love that curiosity for you (and us). We see you reading more authors, more genres, and more formats in the new year, finding favorites and letting go of who and what no longer resonates. Most of all, we see you using the in-app dictionary in Libby to define unknown words, build your vocabulary, and even use Google Translate when reading text in a non-heritage language.

♑ Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)

Did we save the best for last or is our author just biased toward her astrological brethren? It may be that we knew you’d be patient and persistent while we addressed all the other signs. This is how you approach your reading habits, too. To reward your practicality, we have two predictions for you instead of just one:

1. You’ll use the coming soon availability filter to find new and interesting books that haven’t yet hit the shelves (and you’ll place a hold so you’re toward the top of the waitlist).

2. You’ll use deep search and Notify Me so you know the moment a library adds your recommendation.

Slow and steady, little goat!
