Just like your friendly neighborhood librarians are always busy behind the scenes adding new titles to your digital library shelves, we’re also hard at work making sure the Libby app is getting better and better so you can find just the right book.
So what’s been recently updated in Libby? We’ve added new filters to help you search more efficiently and discover books even faster. (If you’re curious about tips for mastering searches in Libby, be sure to check out this post.) But for now, let’s dive into the latest updates:
To see titles your library recently added to the collection, you now have the option to filter by Date Added.
You’ll have the option to select from these presets:
◦ last 7 days
◦ last 14 days
◦ last 30 days
◦ last 3 months
◦ last 6 months
Many libraries are adding titles to the collection every single day! Sorting through what’s new is a great way to stay on top of what’s been added since your last visit—whether it’s a brand new release or even an older title that a patron requested.
I think it was Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music who sang, “Start at the very beginning. It’s a very good place to start.” Starting at the very beginning will be a piece of cake as you now have the option to filter by first in series or standalone.
Instead of wading through all 41 books in the Discworld series and wondering where to start, you’ll be able to find The Color of Magic. Or if you’re not looking to get caught up in a new series right now, selecting standalone with be the better option.
Ever wanted to find an audiobook that matches the length of your road trip? Got kids in the car and looking for a just an hour-long story to keep the sillies at bay? The ability to filter by Audiobook Duration will be a game changer for helping you find your perfect listening length!
You can filter by 1 hour buckets up to 10 hours, then 2 hour buckets up to 24, then 24+ hours for our longest titles.
