The 10 most borrowed books last month in the Libby app

What’s everybody reading these days? We dug into the data to find out—taking a peek at the most popular digital titles checked out in the Libby app from public libraries in the U.S. and Canada in the month of April.

Turns out, we’re fairly well-rounded readers, picking up everything from romantasy and historical fiction to thriller and romance. Though most are brand new, some of the top picks have been out for awhile, proving we just can’t get enough of Emily Henry’s irresistibly addictive romance (just ahead of her latest release) or Suzanne Collins’ ever-popular Hunger Games series (dystopian drama still hits).

If you’re in a reading slump or just wondering “what’s good?,” here are the most high-demand titles from last month that just might be your new favorite.


1. The Women by Kristin Hannah
🎧 Audiobook

The WomenThis historical fiction novel follows Frankie, a 20-year-old nursing student, on a harrowing journey as a nurse in the Vietnam War. Kristin Hannah has done it again and while this book can be heartbreaking, it's worth every page. It was also a 2025 Audie Award winner for Best Fiction Narrator, so checking out the audiobook read by Julia Whelan is a good move.


2. Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros
🎧 Audiobook

Onyx StormThis is the explosive third installment in the hit romantasy series The Empyrean, where high-stakes fantasy where deadly secrets, rebellion, and dragon riders collide in a battle for survival. If you thought Fourth Wing and Iron Flame were intense, get ready for more twists you won't see coming.

3. Funny Story by Emily Henry
🎧 Audiobook

Funny StoryEmily Henry delivers another gem with this charming, heartfelt rom-com about opposites attracting in the most unexpected way. This is definitely one to toss in your beach bag this summer.

4. Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

Fourth WingThis book took the fantasy world by storm, and for good reason. With dragons, a deadly school, and a heroine you can’t help but root for, Fourth Wing is tense, seductive, and irresistibly fun to read.

5. Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins

6. The God of the Woods by Liz Moore

The God of the WoodsPart literary thriller, part family drama, this one’s perfect for fans of Sharp Objects or The Secret History. Set in an elite summer camp in the Adirondacks, it’s haunting and while the tension builds, you’ll find yourself thinking about this one long after you close the book.


7. The Wedding People by Alison Espach

The Wedding PeopleThis is a quirky, heartfelt novel about one unexpected wedding guest and the surprising people who help her start anew. It’s absurdly funny and devastatingly tender and looks at the winding paths we can take to places we never imagined—and the chance encounters it sometimes takes to reroute us. A Today Show #ReadwithJenna Book Club Pick, this was a quiet standout from 2024.


8. None of This Is True by Lisa Jewell
🎧 Audiobook

None of This Is TrueThis psychological thriller about a woman who finds herself the subject of her own popular true crime podcast is unsettling in the best way. Audiobook fans, take note: the full-cast narration makes this one extra immersive.


9. Say You’ll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez
